WORCESTER — Though Worcester police officers generally get good marks for their work, a significant number of residents feel unsafe walking alone in their neighborhoods at night, a recently released survey by The Research Bureau shows.
The study — “Benchmarking Public Safety in Worcester: 2010” — shows that while 88 percent of respondents felt safe during the daytime, only 43 percent felt the same way during evening and night hours, with 41 percent calling for a greater police presence when the sun goes down.
