The average voter age in the 2019 Worcester municipal election was 58.2 years old, according to a report from the Worcester Regional Research Bureau. If you find that number shockingly high (for a city with thousands of high school and college students,) you’re not alone. A student-led group, the Worcester Voter Registration Initiative (WVRI), is doing all it can to lower that number.
The group’s goal is to increase voter registration, voter turnout, census registration, and youth civic and political involvement in the city.
