WORCESTER — A Research Bureau panel yesterday on teacher recruitment will spill over onto a future School Committee agenda, at least as concerns two new-teacher programs.
The four-member panel included representatives from Teach For America, a national program that puts high-achieving college graduates in high-poverty classrooms with lots of support but relatively little training up front; Boston Teacher Residency, a master’s program and one-year apprenticeship that trains students to work in Boston schools for at least three years; the Worcester School Committee; and Assumption College’s Education Department.
