WORCESTER – The city missed an opportunity to engage the community during the selection of a new Worcester Public Schools superintendent and also lost out by limiting the candidate search to internal applicants only, School Committee member John Foley said Monday.
He believed the best practice approach was discussed by a Worcester Regional Research Bureau panel presentation that said the entire community needed to be included in discussions about the vision for the school system.
A superintendent could have been chosen based on the community’s vision, Foley said.
