WORCESTER — The Worcester Regional Transit Authority Advisory Board voted unanimously Thursday to continue fare-free service until January 2023.
The board also voted to use the next year to develop a new fare policy — which may include fare-free service — and implement a new system to collect ridership data and, if necessary, fares in the future.
“The goal is to keep as many options open to the WRTA as possible, and at the same time address the growing support for change in our fare policy and how the transit system operates,” WRTA Administrator Dennis Lipka said.
